Installation 101 Compatible and Non-Compatible Bed Types The 30 inch Safety Bed Rail is compatible with the following traditional bed types: Mattress on box spring, mattress on slats, and mattress on non-adjustable platform. This bed rail is not compatible with beds that have adjustable bases, hospital beds, or beds with an extra soft mattress. Compatibility and fit will vary from bed to bed. Installation 101 The Bed Rail comes with the following: Guard railTwo base tubes with attached safety strapCross barHardware, wrench, and Allen key Installation 101 Installing on the Bed The 30 inch Safety Bed Rail can be installed on either side of the bed with no modification. To install the bed rail on the bed, slide the base tubes underneath the mattress. The bed rail should be placed 12.5 inches from the head of the bed and sit flush with the side of the mattress. Slide the safety strap underneath the mattress by walking it around the base of the bed. Buckle the safety strap around the bed frame on the opposite side of the bed. No, for safety reasons, we do not recommend using the 30 inch Safety Bed Rail on adjustable beds. On what size of mattress can I use the bed rail? The 30 inch Safety Bed Rail can be used on Twin, Full, Double, Queen, King, and California King mattresses with thickness between 10 and 19 inches. Can the bed rail be used on either side of the bed?
